Research at HHI focused on identifying the myriad direct and indirect consequences of war for civilians. By advancing scholarship on the social, economic, and psychological impact of war on civilian populations, HHI developed informed understanding on when and how to act in behalf of people in danger.

  • Darfur, Sudan & Chad
    HHI researchers documented forced migration and genocide in Darfur and Chad beginning in 2005 to inform policy makers on intervention strategies. Read more…
